July 24th-Aug 21st | A Return to Heart

Mid-Summer Reflections: From Leo New Moon to Sturgeon Full Moon & A Return to Heart 🖤

This cycle begins with the radiant Leo New Moon on July 24, spirals through the visionary Sturgeon Full Moon in Aquarius on August 9, and closes with the grounding Virgo New Moon on August 22. The Creatrix Almanac is here to guide you beyond the dates and deadlines into a life led by lunar rhythm, soul truth, and the quiet courage to grow with heart.

🌀 The Lunar Spiral: A Return with Radiance

The moon doesn’t retrace old ground... It dances forward, orbit by orbit, pulling us into deeper awareness with each pass. Growth moves this way too: not backward, not in perfect lines, but in expanding spirals. What we revisit now, we meet with more courage, more clarity, more light.

This mid-summer cycle, crowned by the Leo New Moon, invites you to see how far you’ve come, not by measuring productivity, but by honoring your inner radiance. The spiral brings you back to the heart, again and again, so you can choose from love, not habit. It’s not about pushing through, but rising up with warmth, wisdom, and willingness to be seen in your truth.

🐛 What Heals in the Pause

Can I be candid?

Okay, here goes.

I’ve struggled to write this month’s Creatrix Almanac.

July began with joy and sunshine and then came a wave of trauma that we’ve been privately navigating. Our dog Sarge was injured in a serious incident on July 5, and while he’s recovering beautifully now, the emotional and energetic impact has been heavy. I haven’t shared publicly until now—only in one-on-one conversations—but I’m ready to name it here, in this space we hold together.

Sarge was involved in a dog fight at a private event. The larger dog bit him, causing two puncture wounds, one of which penetrated the abdominal wall. Emergency surgery followed the same day, both to prevent future hernias and to close the existing wounds. We spent the two weeks following in a recovery cocoon. His stitches came out on Friday, July 18, and he’s doing great. We’re healing too, slowly.

But for a time, it felt like standing still in the middle of a four-way intersection while the cars sped around us, as the world kept spinning on. And now, somehow, the new moon is here and July is nearly gone.

In the spirit of honoring where I am, and where I've need to be to support my family, we're keeping things easy and light.

🦁🌚 Leo New Moon: A Return to Heart (July 24)

July 24 – New Moon in Leo

The New Moon in Leo (July 24) arrives like a golden invitation back to ourselves. It invites us to reclaim our inner authority, to be held by those we love, and to soften into a deep, radiant love for who we are becoming. In this fire sign ruled by the Sun, we're reminded that healing doesn’t always happen in stillness, it can also happen in joy, visibility, and play.

Instead of a full ritual this month, I offer you something simpler, something steady.
✨Light a candle (I love Forge the Matriarchy, but any will do).
✨Choose your favorite pen (or random colored pen, as I like to do), open your journal, and settle in.

Journal Prompts:

✨How do I define personal sovereignty and where can I reclaim it now?
This might include boundaries, leadership, choices, or honoring your needs without guilt.

✨Where am I craving to be seen more fully and where am I hiding?
What parts of me long to be witnessed without performance?

✨How does joy want to move through me this season?
What activities, people, or spaces light me up and how can I make more room for them?

This New Moon is not about pushing. It’s about re-rooting into your inner self.

🦈🌝 Sturgeon Full Moon in Aquarius: Reclamation & Integration (August 9)

August 9 – Full Sturgeon Moon in Aquarius

On August 9, the Sturgeon Full Moon rises in Aquarius, illuminating the midpoint of this lunar cycle. If Leo asks us to shine from the heart, Aquarius asks us to zoom out and consider the greater web we’re part of.

This moon reminds us that healing is also collective. That bravery isn’t just personal, it’s communal. Aquarius invites us to release perfectionism, unspoken obligations, and outdated roles we’ve assigned ourselves. It asks:
✨What future are you dreaming of, even in small parts?
✨Where do you truly belong and what needs to be shed to claim that space?

Even while Moon Mavens is on pause, you can honor this moon with your own intuitive practice: a journal entry, a bath, a breath under the night sky. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, it only needs to be yours.

🌙A Return to Heart

This lunar cycle carries us through mid-summer—from fire into air, from bold expression into quiet recalibration. It’s a time to shift from external momentum to internal alignment, to move not from urgency, but from devotion.

If this cycle has taught me anything, it’s that healing and growth often happen not at the peak but in the soft return. In the steady, heart-led homecoming.

Affirmations for the New and Full Moons:
I honor my light as sacred and share it without shrinking.
I trust the rhythm of my becoming, even when it takes an unexpected shape.
