Transitions & Thresholds: From the Virgo New Moons to the Corn Full Moon in Pisces šŸŒ‘šŸŒ•šŸŒ‘

This lunar cycle begins with the Virgo New Moon on August 22, reaches its peak with the Corn Full Moon in Pisces on September 7, and closes with another Virgo New Moon on September 21. The Creatrix Almanac invites us into the liminal spaces—where endings and beginnings overlap, where clarity emerges from reflection, and where tending ourselves is just as sacred as tending others.

šŸŖž Opening: Personal Reflection

Full acknowledgement: this post is tardy, and I so appreciate your patience. We’ve been on the road since July 31st, and time simply got away from me. Still, I wanted to share this month’s thoughts, reflections for the lunar cycle ahead, and an exciting new launch.

If I had to choose one word for this summer, it would be transitions.

Despite how it may feel, we are almost always in some stage of transition: from one season to another, from one phase of life to the next, from one layer of our internal onion to the next. Even now, we’re shifting from the fullness of summer toward the rhythm of fall, with school and schedules coming back into play.

Transitions surround us. So why do they feel so unsettling? Why does change stir up fear and anxiety? And how can we lean into transition without compounding the overwhelm we may already be carrying?

These are some of the questions I’ve been mulling over this summer.

ā™ļøŽšŸŒš Virgo New Moon: Grounding in Reflection (August 22)

August 22 – New Moon in Virgo

This cycle begins with the New Moon in Virgo, landing at the very end of the sign. Virgo calls us to discernment and refinement, asking where we’ve stretched ourselves too thin, and how we might create rhythms that honor both service and self. To clear the clutter, inside and out.

We just returned from our second annual coast trip, starting in Tillamook, and the rest spent partly in Astoria with my mom, siblings, and nephew, and partly in Columbia County with my dad, aunts, and cousin. Our family visits this season gave me plenty of opportunities to examine old beliefs, grieve what is gone, and let go of what no longer serves. It was not easy, but it was necessary.

This is the knot of Virgo: endings and beginnings woven tightly together.

Journal Prompt:

✨For the Virgo New Moon- Where am I holding onto old beliefs? Are they beliefs I want to retain or are some ready to be released? How can I prepare myself for letting go of what I no longer need?

šŸŒ½šŸŒ Corn Full Moon in Pisces: Surrender & Release (September 7)

September 7 – Full Corn Moon in Pisces

By the time we reach the Corn Full Moon in Pisces, the energy softens into surrender. Pisces reminds us that not everything can be analyzed or solved; sometimes the wisest move is to let go.

This reflection threads into something I’ve been noticing: the ways I pour energy into others, whether or not they invest back into me. It’s not about keeping score, it’s about recognizing the imbalance of my own making. Always pouring out, people-pleasing, worrying about others before myself... It isn’t sustainable. Have I abandoned myself in the name of serving others? This question is very much alive for me right now.

Journal Prompt:

✨Reflection for the Pisces Full Moon: What can I release with compassion, trusting that it no longer belongs to me?

We close this cycle with another Virgo New Moon. It’s a chance to take what we’ve reflected on, surrendered, and released, and bring it into a grounded plan for what comes next. This energy encourages refinement, devotion to the details, and a return to order in both daily rituals and inner life.

🪓What’s Growing at Rising Tide

Even amid transitions, I return to the things that root me in joy: my garden, sharing these reflections, creating treasures for Rising Tide Soulpothecary, and exploring in our RV.

And I’m honored to share a new treasure with you. Prime Arcana, a series of five ritual candles, is coming to life. The first—INFERNA—is now available for pre-order.

INFERNA is your ritual for fury and fire; for reclaiming what is yours. It is for the one who has been told they are ā€œtoo muchā€ or ā€œtoo emotional,ā€ for the one dismissed, underestimated, or silenced.Ā INFERNA is for anyone ready to emerge from the shadows in unapologetic power.

Learn more about Prime Arcana and order INFERNA here. She will ship October 1st, perfectly aligned with mid-Libra season’s balancing energy.

As always, thank you for riding this wave with me. It is an honor to share, to learn, to grow, and to connect with you through this season of transitions.

In Release and Clarity,
Mary, the Creatrix
